When traveling, you may enter many roadblocks that can affect your mental state and overall health. Changes in the climate, environment, time zone, and food can all have a major impact on how your body reacts to having to adapt to something completely new and out of the norm. You may experience your body go into a complete state of shock, and that is normal.

The question is, how do you train your body to adapt to different environments and a different way of operating before it goes into an utter shock that will then weaken your immune system and cause it to become ill? I have been traveling for over 13 years to different countries all around the world, and I have had my fair share of “feeling sick” or “getting sick” experiences. My body has gone through a complete state of shock, it caused me a trip to the hospital and having to postpone my travels back home for two weeks!

How did I manage to find a solution to help lessen the possibility of me getting sick during a trip? I have developed a routine! Yes, I love using the word routine because it took me 10 years to understand the definition of it and finally live by it! Our bodies react and do what we tell them and train them to do. The trick here is to make sure we control our bodies before we let them control us!

I have implemented these six steps to my day-to-day and since then, I have seen the difference in my travel mood, work performance, and overall daily tasks. Even on the days that I do feel under the weather or when I catch a cold, or when I had covid, (yikes!), my body was still able to recover quickly due to the strong foundation I have created and lived by. This has worked for me and I can’t guarantee results or fast turnaround for anyone but I do assure you, anything that you stick to and do consistently, will become a part of you and how your body will respond to its surroundings externally and internally!
